Which Beta level is best for metal fabrication? A magnetic Beta 1696B or 1696T is usually the practical choice because the magnetic base helps on ferrous profiles, frames and pipework. Choose 1696T when higher accuracy and three-vial reading are useful.

What is the practical difference between 1 mm/m and 0.5 mm/m accuracy? 1 mm/m is suitable for general checks and standard installation; 0.5 mm/m reduces error over longer distances and is better when alignment affects installation quality.

Does a magnetic level work on aluminium or stainless steel? The magnetic function works only on compatible ferrous surfaces. On aluminium, non-magnetic stainless steel or thick coatings the level can still be used, but it should not be considered magnetically fixed.

When should I choose a screeding level rather than a short level? Beta 1696S screeding levels are for long surfaces, screeds, plastering, guides and extended construction checks. For benches, frames or machines, a shorter level is often easier to handle.

Does the laser level replace a spirit level? No. Beta 1697 projects reference lines on walls and rooms; a spirit level remains more direct for contact checks on parts and physical surfaces.
